Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev will participate  in the first meeting of the European Political Community in Prague. 44 European leaders are to take part at the event. At the request of France, invitations have been sent to leaders of 27 EU countries and 17 other countries because of Russia's war against Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will address participants by video link. After the meeting on Friday, President Radev will participate in the informal meeting of heads of state or government in the Czech capital Prague, during which European leaders will discuss the new package of sanctions against Russia and how to continue the European Union’s support for Ukraine.

The format of the Ukraine in NATO declaration should be first within the framework of the entire European Union and then of NATO, Bulgaria’s Vice President Iliana Iotova said in the town of Svilengrad. In her words, this is a declaration for the accelerated accession of Ukraine to NATO and no one, including the Bulgarian President, is questioning the subject of Ukraine’s membership in NATO.

Meanwhile, the government of the Czech Republic has approved a new batch of military aid to Ukraine with equipment, weapons and ammunition. According to Jana Chernocova, Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic, since the beginning of 2022, the export of military equipment from the Czech Republic to Ukraine has reached almost EUR 2 billion.

Energoatom, the operator of nuclear power plants in Ukraine, has called Vladimir Putin’s decree on the transfer of Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant to Russia’s ownership null and void.
