The UN General Assembly has condemned Russia's annexation of Ukrainian territories in the backdrop of continuing Russian strikes against civilian targets in Ukraine. The vote came after Moscow vetoed the resolution in the Security Council. 143 countries out of 193 UN members supported Ukraine, as only Belarus, Syria, North Korea and Nicaragua voted "for" the Russian aggression. 35 countries including China, India, South Africa and Pakistan abstained.

US Ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, said the vote was important not only for the future of Ukraine and Europe, but also for the UN itself. Russian ambassador Vasily Nebenzya called the document politicized and provocative.

In an address to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for the creation of a permanent financial format for the Ramstein military support group. He pointed out that in order to fill the budget deficit, Ukraine needs 38 billion dollars and another 17 billion to restore destroyed critical infrastructure.
