In October 2022, Bulgarians made 15.3% more trips abroad compared to 2021. Visits by foreigners to Bulgaria rose by 49.2%, according to the National Statistical Institute. The trips of Bulgarians abroad in October were 599,500 and the country was visited by 847,100 foreigners. The passenger flow to and from the country has been decreasing compared to the summer months.
Most Bulgarians traveled to the neighboring Balkan countries. 160,600 traveled to Turkey and 145,100 went to Greece. The majority of guests who visited Bulgaria came from the EU - 46.4% or 392,700 people. The biggest number of foreign guests came from Turkey - 164,000 and from Romania 146,800.
