Bulgaria’s caretaker Minister of Culture Velislav Minekov has proposed to his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksandr Tkachenko that a specialised commission be set up to assess the damage to the Ukrainian cultural heritage. “We are talking about more than 880 cultural sites”, Minister Minekov said after the Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Council held in Brussels.

The problem is not only with the immovable cultural heritage. Museums have been looted as well, which is very sad. This commission should include ministers of culture, MEPs and Commissioners", said Velislav Minekov, the correspondent of the BNR in Brussels Angelina Piskova reported. Bulgaria is ready to deliver materials for the protection and preservation of cultural property, as well as experts in the field of conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
