Bulgaria marks an increase in the number of tourists from traditional markets

Bulgarians have always been among the most significant contributors to the country’s tourism. In 2022, we have also registered an increase in the number of tourists from traditional markets, caretaker Minister of Tourism Ilin Dimitrov said for Nova TV. Bookings from Israel have increased with 15% as compared to 2021. Holiday bookings from the United Kingdom saw a 12% increase. Bookings from Romania and Greece increased respectively with 10% and 5%. Unfortunately, Bulgaria has lost the Russian market for obvious reasons, said Minister Dimitrov.

The increase in the price of services in Bulgarian ski resorts is much lower as compared to competing destinations. The price-quality ratio is very good. The outflow of people willing to work in the tourism sector after the Covid-19 pandemic is a problem, Minsiter Dimitrov added.
