Ukraine wants the UN to review Russia's status in Security Council

On December 26, Ukraine will officially raise the topic of Russia's exclusion from the UN Security Council. "We have a very simple question: Does Russia have the right to remain a permanent member of the UN Security Council and to be a part of the UN at all?" Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Ukrainian national television. He added that the question of Russia’s veto-wielding seat in the UN Security Council, which is also held by the United States, Britain, France and China, was already being discussed in diplomacy circles.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said Russian air defenses had prevented a Ukrainian drone strike on Engels Air Force Base in the Saratov region and that three servicemen were killed when debris fell from the unmanned aerial vehicle. According to TASS, no planes at the base were damaged in the explosions.

Due to problems with artillery ammunition supply, Russian forces have lost their captured positions in the industrial zone of the city of Bakhmut, the US-based Institute for the Study of War - ISW, reported.
