The Sofia Zoo ends the year with a record number of visitors and with new residents, its head Dobromir Borislavov has told BNR.

By the end of November, the zoo's guests had reached 410,000. "It's been 25 years since we launched a donation and adoption program in the zoo. One feels stronger when they know they are not alone," Mr. Borislavov says. According to him, about 50 companies and "a serious number of individual donors" regularly support the zoo. Over the past months, many animals have been born there – a zebra, lemurs, deer, antelopes, otters.

The children like the predators, the reptiles and giants the most, the director of the zoo added.
