Publisher Manol Peykov raises 220,000 BGN aid for Turkey in one day

The sum of 220 thousand BGN to help the victims of the earthquake in Turkey has been raised in less than 24 hours by Plovdiv-based publisher Manol Peykov. Yesterday, he made an appeal on his Facebook profile for sympathy for those in distress.

Donors are currently over 1,500 people, as donations continue to arrive at the collection points in Plovdiv and Sofia since the morning. Peykov has also received proposals for organizing transport with buses and a truck.

After speaking with the Bulgarian ambassador to Turkey it is clear that people in the area are in need of gloves, jackets, scarves, hats, blankets, outdoor gas heaters, tents, camping chairs and tables, first aid kits, sleeping bags and indoor tent lighting. The request is not to donate clothes.
The collection point for aid in Plovdiv is at 9 Alexander Stamboliyski Blvd.
