Bulgarian Red Cross starts donation campaign for Turkey-Syria earthquake victims

The Bulgarian Red Cross has launched a donation campaign for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and SyriaAnyone who wishes can support the initiative by sending an SMS to the number 1466 (worth BGN 1) to all mobile operators.


To support the people of Turkey and Syria affected by the earthquake, a bank account in BGN has been opened and quoted on the website of the Bulgarian Red Cross:

The Bulgarian Red Cross has also announced campaign to collect material donations to help the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria on February 6, reported the Bulgarian Red Cross.

At the moment, the most urgent needs are:
· new warm children's, women's and men's clothes and shoes;
· new bedding;
· new warm blankets;
· hygienic materials (for personal hygiene).

We also appeal to the Bulgarian manufacturing companies for their sympathy, calling on them to support the campaign, both with the items of first necessity listed above, and according to their possibilities with: family tents, heating devices for tents, lanterns and batteries, the Bulgarian Red Cross announced.

Donations for Sofia will be accepted at 10 Lyulin district, 1989 "Dr. Petar Dertliev" Blvd., today from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and in the following days from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., as well as in the regional organizations of the Bulgarian Red Cross.

All donations will be directly transported to the affected areas and must meet sanitary and hygienic requirements.

A search and rescue team of 12 people and 5 dogs left for Turkey last night, the press center of the Bulgarian Red Cross reported. The aim is to join the rescue activities on site. The organization is ready to provide humanitarian aid from its disaster reserve.
