The caretaker government of Bulgaria has enforced the decision of the 48th National Assembly to send military aid to Ukraine, President Rumen Radev said and added that the MPs from the last National Assembly have totally fallen short of people’s expectations.

“We should not forget that this is the parliament that dissolved itself out of fear of forming a government and shouldering responsibility, Rumen Radev stated, and went on to say that the “parties of war” must first win the election. According to Rumen Radev, they must form a government which shall take responsibility for the decision for the Bulgarian army sending Ukraine weapons.

According to Rumen Radev, they are people who know nothing of warfare but who are doing their best to “involve us in the processes of escalation which they cannot control”. The President stated further that he is categorically against sending weaponry from the reserves of the Bulgarian army to the war zone. “In the very first hours Bulgaria stated a clear position and vehemently condemned the Kremlin’s aggression against a sovereign state but I still believe that this conflict does not have a military solution, it can only be achieved via an immediate ceasefire and dialogue,” the President told reporters in the village of Ustina, Plovdiv region where he attended Trifon Zarezan, the holiday of vine-growers and wine-makers.
