Newly registered unemployed persons in Bulgaria are over 36,000

Since the beginning of 2023, the number of unemployed citizens who have registered with the employment agency offices across the country has exceeded 36,000. Of these, 20,230 people were able to find a job thanks to the employment services. 

According to the latest data from the weekly surveillance of the labour market by the National Statistical Institute and the Employment Agency, this year, the tendency to have a higher number of unemployed persons than those who find jobs will be kept also this year. 

For comparison, for 2022, the number of unemployed persons was nearly 279,000, as 224,000 people found jobs via the employment agencies.
