Protection of human rights is a top priority for the Bulgarian foreign policy, caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Milkov said in Geneva. The minister takes part in the session of the UN Human Rights Council and the Conference on Disarmament.
In his speech, he pointed out that Bulgaria marks the 80th anniversary of the Rescue of Bulgarian Jews during World War II - a unique episode of modern history, which inspires us to continue fighting against all forms of discrimination and hatred.
"One year after the beginning of the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, Bulgaria once again condemns all violations of international law in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law," the minister said, adding that violations require unanimous condemnation and that the perpetrators must be held accountable.
