Increasing number of Bulgarians prefer exotic tourist destinations

The trips of Bulgarians abroad in the first month of the year were 504,000, or 7.2% more than those registered for January 2022, according to the data of the National Statistical Institute.

The largest number of tourist trips were to destinations like Turkey, Greece, Serbia, Romania, the Republic of North Macedonia, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom. However, interest in exotic destinations has been growing more and more, tour operators from Vidin have told BNR.

Destinations such as Zanzibar, The Maldives, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Thailand, are becoming more and more preferred by Bulgarian tourists.
