In a year, it will probably become clear whether Bulgaria is ready for the Eurozone: Dombrovskis

In the spring of 2024, the report, which will report whether the country's economic indicators allow us to introduce the single European currency, will show whether Bulgaria is ready for the euro. According to the Vice-President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, the very high inflation is currently an obstacle to  Bulgaria's joining the Eurozone, so the January 2024 deadline has been dropped. 


It is very unlikely that Bulgaria will meet the criteria earlier so that the euro can be introduced before 2025, BGNES informs, citing Dombrovskis.
