The opening of the 11th International Choir Festival "Chernomorski Zvutsi” /Black Sea Sounds/ takes place this evening. The festival is held from June 7 to 11th in Balchik. Throughout the years the forum enjoyed the participation of a total of more than 5,300 singers in 203 choirs from 23 countries from Europe, Asia and America. There have been 22 choral workshops for contemporary music and Bulgarian folklore. Five works have been written especially for the festival and had their world premieres in Balchik, performed by international festival choirs of over 200 singers.
The team of "Musical World - Balchik" Association strives to update the forum with new initiatives every year. This year, choirs from five countries will take part - Bulgaria, Poland, the Netherlands, as well as performers from Slovakia and Israel, who will perform for the first time on the festival stage in Balchik. Two choral workshops are also organised.
Performances within the framework of the festival in Balchik will be evaluated by a professional jury, which includes prominent Bulgarian specialists in the field of choral singing.
Traditionally, the forum is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Mayor of Balchik Municipality, Nikolai Angelov.
The festival concerts are broadcast online and have hundreds of thousands of views. It will be the same this year and we can enjoy all the concert performances in real time on the festival's web page.
