Bulgaria is preparing a new tranche of military aid for Ukraine, Defense Minister Todor Tagarev told the parliamentary defence and foreign policy committees. He and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel were questioned because of the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius.

The aid is according to Ukrainian needs and our capabilities, as decided by the parliament, Tagarev added. It is comparable in volume and types to the first package sent. At this time, the provision of main combat vehicles is not discussed. Very soon, Bulgaria will join the agreement to provide 1 million projectiles to Ukraine, Tagarev confirmed.

Bulgaria is not fully ready to produce 155 mm. shells and prepares projects for their release. They will be financed by the European Commission. Military factories in Sopot are operating at full speed and producing the 152 and 122 mm ammunition used by Ukraine, Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov told the Defence Committee.
