One of the proposals for amendments to the Constitution made by We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB) is that the Minister of Justice should have a leading role in the nomination of the next Prosecutor General, Bulgaria’s Minister of Justice Atanas Slavov said for Nova TV. The powers of the Chief Prosecutor are expected to change. His term of office shall be limited to 5 years.

Changes regarding the caretaker government have been proposed as well. According to the first option, the President appoints the outgoing regular cabinet as caretaker government until the new elections which should be held within two months. The Greek model, where the President of the Supreme Court or the President of the Court of Audit becomes interim Premier until the formation of the next regular government, is also being discussed. According to Minister Slavov, the decision will be up to the Parliament and will be taken in the autumn of 2023.
