"Vazrazhdane" party challenges Parliament's decision on the referendum on the Euro

The leader of "Vazrazhdane" party Kostadin Kostadinov contested the result of the vote in Parliament on their proposal for a referendum on retaining the lev as the country’s sole currency until 2043. According to Kostadin Kostadinov, there was confusion during the vote in plenary and the opinion of the National Assembly Legal Affairs Committee not to hold the referendum was rejected, i.e. a referendum will be held.

“In other words, the rejection of the decision to cancel the referendum means that there will be a referendum. Now the final decision is in the hands of the President, who is obliged to comply with the law and the decision of Bulgaria's Parliament and to call a referendum", Kostadin Kostadinov wrote on Facebook.”
