The large fire near the villages of Mladinovo and Pastrogor (Svilengrad Municipality) has already spread to 1,500 hectares, including 700 hectares of forests, the Bulgarian National Radio’s correspondent in Haskovo Dora Atanasova reported. According to the Haskovo Regional Governor Ginka Raicheva, the fire has been contained, but it has engulfed larger areas.

A pine forest was on fire at 11pm on Sunday. The wind was changing direction and at times the fire crossed the road. However, it was contained by the firefighters. So far, no helicopters need to be involved in extinguishing the fire. A ban on pasture clearing has been in force since yesterday.
