A large-scale exhibition themed Messages on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of the great Bulgarian artist Zlatyu Boyadzhiev /1903 - 1976/ will be launched today at the National Art Gallery in Sofia. The official opening will take place at 6 pm in the former Royal Palace at Knyaz Alexander I Square 1.

The selected works trace the main stylistic and thematic directions in the author's work until 1951 when he suffered a severe brain stroke and received paralysis of the right half of the body, as well as the changes in his artistic expression after that date when he began to paint again, but now with his left hand.

The exhibition includes works from the funds of the National Gallery, Sofia City Art Gallery, the galleries in Blagoevgrad, Varna, Vidin, Gabrovo, Kazanlak, Pazardzhik, Pernik, Plovdiv, Ruse, Stara Zagora and Yambol, from the heirs of Zlatyu Boyadzhiev, from the State Cultural Institute of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and from private collections.

The exhibition can be seen until January 7, 2024.
