Pop art portraits of Vasil Levski, inspired by Andy Warhol and his work, were created by 11th grade students from the Bulgarian school Dr. Petar Beron in Reading, the UK. “Our students are familiar with Andy Warhol’s work, that is the reason we believe they will take to the idea of an avant-garde version of the Apostle of Freedom,” the school said.
Andy Warhol is an American artist, a leading figure in the pop art movement. After a successful career in advertising art, he earned world renown with his work as an artist, avant-garde film director, producer and author.
