Bulgarian resorts in the top ten for German tourists

In 2024, Germans have placed Bulgaria in 8th place for early booking of summer holidays. After the coronavirus pandemic, there was a decline in the number of German tourists visiting Bulgarian resorts. Now, however, Germans have started to book early again, according to the TravelNews website.

The German Travel Association (DRV) reports a 30 per cent increase over the same period last year. And German tour operator DER Touristik, which brings the most tourists to Bulgaria's Black Sea coast, announced an 18% increase in bookings for the summer season at this time compared to the same period last year.
However, the lack of charter flights to the Bulgarian Black Sea coast is a problem.

There is a shortage of flights for the so-called shoulder season - the months of May, June, September and October. However, from 2025, the German airline SunExpress is expected to start flying to our seaside airports in Varna and Burgas. Germany's Eurowings is also planning to increase its capacity to Bulgaria next year.
