Vice President Iliana Iotova to take part in memorial ceremony for children killed in the river Lim 20 years ago

Vice President Iliana Iotova is paying a visit to Montenegro. At the invitation of Bijelo Polje municipality, today she will take part in a memorial ceremony 20 years after the road accident in which 12 Bulgarian children from Svishtov were killed. The tragedy took place as the children were on their way back from a trip to Dubrovnik. The bus driver lost control of the vehicle and it fell into the swollen river Lim and sank in a matter of minutes.

As part of her visit, the Bulgarian Vice President is expected to hold a meeting with Minister of Culture Tamara Vujović and with the mayor of Cetinje Nikola Djuraskovic.

The initiative will be discussed of putting up a monument to Ivan Vazov in Montenegro.
