The book Eyeball It: Village Culinary Adventures by Rory Miller - an American living in Bulgaria - will be presented tonight in Chicago at the Magura Cultural Center (415 W Golf Rd # 7, Arlington Heights).  It is a collection of old recipes from Bulgarian villages. The book will also be presented in Toronto on 19 April, in Montreal on 20 April, in Ottawa on 21 April, in New York on 25 April and in Seattle on 27 April.

Rory Miller settled in Bulgaria more than 15 years ago and is building an image as a culinary guru. He travels deep into the countryside, recording old grandma's local recipes and preserving them for posterity. His book tells not only of the delicious dishes prepared, as he says, 'eyeballing it' - a Bulgarian expression that is difficult to translate, but which means doing something without paying too much attention to detail - by the skilful housewives, but also of the warmth of their homes, their joys and pains.
