Caretaker PM Glavchev warns there is speculation about sending Bulgarian troops to Ukraine

“Our cabinet has a short time horizon, we have no right to ask people to postpone their lives until a regular cabinet is elected. That is why we are doing our job in the best way possible,” says caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev in an interview for 24 Chasa newspaper. Our term of office is too short to be wasting days in arguing over positions, and that is the reason why Dimitar Glavchev took the post of foreign minister as well, the prime minister says.

“There have been attempts to manipulate public opinion that Bulgaria will be dragged into the war. I want to assure the Bulgarian citizens that Bulgarian troops will not be sent to Ukraine, in any form. As you know no such decision can be made without sanction from parliament. So, any talk on the matter is speculation,” Dimitar Glavchev says.
