GERB leader outraged over Vice President Iotova describing new Bulgarian parliament as "illegitimate"

GERB leader Boyko Borissov has called on the presidential institution to apologize for the position expressed by Vice President Iliana Iotova, questioning the legitimacy of the early elections on October 27, if not - to withdraw the decree for convening the 51st National Assembly.

In the meantime, in anticipation of the delivery of the first exploratory mandate to form a cabinet to GERB-SDS, he defined the "red lines" for possible future consultations. Borissov's firm condition is that the chairman of the 51st National Assembly be from GERB-SDS as a guarantor for the start of negotiations. 

Borissov also stated that he was ready to govern with anyone who supported the program of GERB, and that he would not allow any compromise regarding the coalition PP-DB. 

At today's GERB national meeting, it is expected that GERB will decide whether the party will request a partial cancellation of the elections, provided that this will lead to the formation of a regular government, as Boyko Borissov had stated a few days ago.
