This year, the traditional Christmas trip with the Rhodope Narrow Gauge Railway will take place on December 22, Kristian Vaklinov, founder and chairman of the Rhodope Narrow-Gauge Railway Association, told the BNR-Blagoevgrad. Santa Claus and Snow White will delight passengers with gifts during the four-hour journey.
The route includes a one-hour stop at the Dobrinishte station, where a special festive program will be organized.
For Kristian Vaklinov, the Christmas trip is one of the nicest and coziest initiatives of the association. ''Not only because of the Christmas spirit, but also because of the children who fill the carriages with laughter, kindness and purity. We can't help but continue this tradition", says Vaklinov. He expressed his gratitude to the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) for providing gifts for all the children traveling on the Rodope narrow-gauge train.
The unique railway line connects the towns of Septemvri and Dobrinishte, passing through picturesque Rhodope landscapes. It is famous for its steep sections and curves, offering incredible views of mountain ridges and rivers. You can learn more about the Rhodope narrow gauge railway in Radio Bulgaria’s articles:
