France and Bulgaria to promote cooperation in defence, economy and education

At a meeting in Paris, the presidents of Bulgaria and France Rumen Radev and Emmanuel Macron defined defence, economy and education as key spheres in bilateral cooperation. President Macron stated that investments in both directions will increase in the coming months, and President Radev – that Bulgaria’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU can further France’s proposals on the future of Europe and its views on a European joint defence industry.

At a meeting in Paris with the Bulgarian head of state, European Space Agency Director-General Johann-Dietrich Woerner stated that in its capacity of a European cooperating state, Bulgaria is able to avail itself of the infrastructure and the services of the agency to put through its space projects.

Today, President Radev is to hold talks with representatives of French businesses, with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay, and with the Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, OECD, Angel Gurría.
