The protests, demanding the resignation of the government of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and of Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev, as well as the holding of early, fair and free elections, have continued in Bulgaria for 68 days.

At the 67th night of protest last night in the centre of Sofia, the protest leaders from the so-called “toxic trio” stated they would not engage in negotiations with the government. On 22 September, Bulgaria’s Independence Day, they are calling a third “Grand National Uprising”, the BNR reports.

Besides in Sofia, yesterday protests were organized by Bulgarians in other countries as well. In Vienna a protest march passed through the central streets of the Austrian capital. The protesters signed a letter to Bulgarian parliament demanding that a constituency be formed specifically for Bulgarians living abroad, as well as vote-by-mail and e-voting, the BNR reports.
