Electronic system to register people wanting to get vaccinated

The electronic registration system for those wishing to get vaccinated is expected to be operational on March 3. People will be able to indicate in which vaccination center they want to get their immunization as the interval between vaccinations is 10 minutes. At the moment, the organization created by the health authorities is very good, Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov said and added that he was extremely pleased with the pace of vaccination in the country. Anyone who wants and is outside the designated phases of vaccination, can get vaccinated in the “green corridors”, which are currently available only during weekends. Angelov added that opening such corridors during the week is being discussed, but there has been no decision yet.

Number of people wishing to get vaccinated rises

More than 57,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine against Covid-19, which arrived last night, have already been distributed to Regional Health Inspectorates in the country. Yesterday, the fourth phase of the immunization plan started and anyone over the age of 18 can get vaccinated. There were queues of dozens of people wishing to get vaccinated in front of the five vaccination points of the hospital for emergency medicine "Pirogov" in Sofia. Vaccination is also underway at the Military Medical Academy in the capital city and some of the vaccines were administered personally by the head of the Operational Headquarters, Gen. Ventsislav Mutafchiyski. Additional vaccination points have also opened in Burgas and the region, as well as in Plovdiv. Mass vaccination continues tomorrow and another 180,000 doses of the three EU-approved vaccines are expected to arrive next week.

Nearly 11 percent of recent Covid-19 tests return positive result

Newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Bulgaria are 1,463, which is nearly 11% of the 11,303 tests carried out in the past day. According to the Single Coronavirus Information Portal, 26 of the new cases are among medical staff. There are 3,775 patients with Covid-19 in hospitals, as 316 are in intensive care. 346 people recovered in the past day and 35 patients passed away. Most of the newly infected are in Sofia - 363, Burgas - 191 and Plovdiv – 97. The number of vaccinated citizens has reached 13,754 people as the "AstraZeneca" vaccine started to be given to everyone over 18 years of age who wishes to be vaccinated. According to the plan, during the weekend an opportunity for mass vaccination should be provided in the regional centers of the country.
