Photo: Library

The election campaigns of political parties and coalitions cannot be financed with more than BGN 3 million /about EUR 1.5 million/, and the initiative committees - with BGN 200,000 /about EUR 100,000/. The Central Election Commission has decided that the election campaign should be financed with funds of the political parties, the parties participating in the coalitions and the members of the initiative committees, the registered candidates, as well as funds donated by individuals, legal entities and sole traders following specific regulations.

The National Audit Office will control and check the donations and the reports after the end of the campaign, BNR reported.
