Names of new MPs to become clear on 11 April

Photo: archive

On election night the section election commissions will process more than 10.4 million numbers. There are more than 400 numbers in each tally sheet. By law the tally sheets have to be ready no later than 24 hours after the end of voting.

The data will take longer to process because the results of the paper and the machine vote have to be added up. After which they will again be added up at the regional election commissions, and then handed over to the Central Election Commission (CEC) by 6 April.

By 8 April the CEC has to make public the votes cast and the distribution of seats in parliament. If a candidate is elected in two regions he or she will have 24 hours to choose the electoral list on which to enter parliament. The names of the 240 new MPs are to become clear by 11 April, 24 Chasa writes.
