The purpose of the vaccination and the formation of antibodies is to protect the immunized and to limit the epidemic when the virus enters their upper respiratory tract. This was explained to bTV by Dr. Nikolay Branzalov, Deputy Chairman of the Bulgarian Medical Association (BMA).
