36% of Bulgarians are against coronavirus vaccines, 33% are in favour, almost 20% are neutral, according to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, which cites the results of a national representative survey conducted in mid-2021 among 1,150 adults in the country.

44% of the respondents state they prefer to contract the virus as a way to acquire immunity against Covid-19, and 22% that they prefer to be vaccinated. Under the circumstances, a face mask mandate is supported by three-quarters of the respondents, and shutting businesses and jobs – by 56%.
