Today, July 9, the Community Center “Niva 1898” in the village of Balvan, Veliko Tarnovo district, hosts the traditional Banitsa Festival named “Banitsa on Weekdays and Holidays”. Undoubtedly, banitsa is the most popular Bulgarian pastry meal.
Each Bulgarian region makes banitsa in a different way. That is why different varieties of this favorite delicacy will be presented all day long. The festival emphasizes varieties typical of the region of Veliko Tarnovo- pulled and rolled banitsa, sweet and savoury banitsa, meat banitsa, vegetable banitsa, etc. There are no restrictions on the number and type of culinary temptations. Participants will also take part in a competition. A competent jury will assess and award the most skillful chefs.
