Pendarovski: The chances of Bulgarians being included in North Macedonia's Constitution are slim

The French proposal gives the Republic of North Macedonia a chance to start EU accession talks after 17 years of waiting. This is a "transitional compromise with a roadblock in place," said Stevo Pendarovski, the president of the Republic of North Macedonia, in an interview with the Greek newspaper "Ethnos", quoted by BGNES.

In order for the negotiations to continue, a change in the constitution is necessary, including the Bulgarians in it. "Given our deep political polarization, there is little chance that any political entity can muster a two-thirds parliamentary majority to support the changes," Pendarovski said.
