The total producer price index in industry has gone up in July by a record 42.5% compared to the same month of last year, and by 3.8% compared to June, National Statistical Institute data show.
The prices of producing and generating gas, electricity and thermal energy in July, compared to 2021, have gone up by 103%, after an 83% increase in June – within the space of one month they have gone up by 19.3%. Based on the steep rise in cost prices in July, consumer inflation is expected to continue to grow in the coming months.
