Bulgarian economy has been very stable since 2021, despite the crises, with very high growth in both exports and imports. In the last quarter of 2021, GDP grew by more than 10%.

World Trade Organisation data for the first half of 2022 also show that the Bulgarian economy is growing, Minister of Economy Nikola Stoyanov told BNR. Expectations of an increase in the number of job cuts also did not materialise

According to the minister, inflation is expected to go down and energy prices are contained. The caretaker government has prepared measures that will lead to a lasting drop in fuel prices. Among them is seizing excess profits not only of electricity producers but also of fuel producers, the latter also concerning oil producer Lukoil.
