The election campaign for the snap elections on April 2 shall be funded with the own funds of the parties, the parties participating in coalitions, the members of the steering committees, the registered candidates, as well as with funds donated by natural persons, said the Central Election Commission (CEC).
The total amount of funding of a party or a coalition may not exceed EUR 1.5 million, and that of a steering committee - EUR 100,000. The election campaigns may not be funded by anonymous donations, funds from legal persons, foreign natural persons, religious institutions or funds from foreign governments, foreign state-owned enterprises, foreign commercial companies or foreign organisations.
