With 207 votes, the MPs extended last year's state budget until July 31. This is the deadline set by the parliament for adopting the budget for 2023. Until July, revenues and expenses remain within the limits of 2022, taking into account acts of the parliament and the government that have come into force for additional or reduced budget expenses.

Finance Minister Assen Vassilev said that the treasury has more than 5 billion euros and "any talk of bankruptcy is untenable". The next 2 weeks we will talk about the wallet within a 3% deficit, he pointed out. In the discussion, the ruling majority called for keeping taxes the same and said education costs should reach at least 4.5% of GDP.
