In recognition of the significant long-term role in the promotion of the Bulgarian language and culture in Slovakia and the maintenance of good bilateral relations, Bulgaria's Vice President Iliana Iotova awarded the honorary plaque of the vice president to the Bulgarian secondary school "Hristo Botev" in Bratislava. The vice president was a guest at the solemn celebration of the 75th anniversary of the school.

"Today is a holiday and a reason for great pride – a Bulgarian school in the center of Europe, which attracts more and more children, is turning 75 years old", Iotova stated in her greeting address. She recalled the memories she keeps from the opening in 2018 of the 70th jubilee academic year at the school. "I also remember the words of the then Minister of Education of Slovakia that the Bulgarian school is one of the best in the Slovak capital," said the vice president.

"Dear teachers, in your hands are tomorrow's worthy citizens of Slovakia, of Bulgaria, of our European family. You are continuing the educational work of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius. The vice president addressed the students with the words: "You have immense possibilities. Whether you will continue your education here or in Bulgaria or in another country, never forget your Bulgarian school".
