BG BEN, the only Bulgarian newspaper in UK celebrates 20th anniversary

The first issue of BG BEN, the only Bulgarian newspaper in the UK came out on this day in 2004. This year is its 500th edition. The efforts of its team are targeted at strengthening the relations within the Bulgarian community and offering practical solutions to various problems. The paper publishes interviews with Bulgarian actors, musicians, writers who are able to present their work to the Bulgarian community in the UK. 

“What gives us the greatest pleasure is when we are able to help our compatriots in Great Britain, the Bulgarian amateur drama companies, the singers, the writers, the Bulgarian schools, their students, teachers and headmasters,” the member of the team working at the newspaper say. At the moment the newspaper is trying to survive as it is encountering financial problems, and is relying on advertising and donations.
