Former world chess champion Anatoly Karpov opened in Bulgaria the first academy of his own name, which will train young talents. The grandmaster delivered in Black sea resort Albena a champion’s lesson on 20 boards in which his partners were Bulgarian kids from the National Children's team. The purpose of the Academy is to attract as many children, as a large-scale forum can create craftsmanship and more champions, Karpov said. The chess school will train students between 8 and 18 years on Karpov’s methodology, which has taken him to the world title. Tourists will also be able to learn in school more about this intellectual game.
