Over half of the Bulgarian nationals distrust banking system

53% of the Bulgarian nationals do not trust the banking system, shows a research of Gallup International. The mistrust is on the rise for the second consecutive month. In July it was at 41%. Meanwhile, 27% of the polled nationals in August and 33% of the surveyed Bulgarians in July trust the Bulgarian banks. Nearly half of the respondents (49%) voiced the opinion that the Corporate Commercial Bank which is under special supervision is a target of political attack. 16% of the polled citizens disagreed with this thesis and 35% could not provide answer. Most Bulgarians (43%) insist that the CCB should be saved by its shareholders and continue to function. Only 19% of the surveyed Bulgarians think that the bank should be closed and go bankrupt.
