EC finances key infrastructure projects in BG energy sector

The EU member countries agreed to grant EUR 647 million for priority infrastructure projects in the energy sector. Among the endorsed projects are also 5 in Bulgaria to the cost of over EUR 4 million. The European means are to finance studies for the building of the inter-connector gas link between Bulgaria and Turkey and power lines from the Maritsa Iztok thermo-electric plant to different parts of the country. European financing granted to Greece envisages the building of a link from Maritsa Iztok to the Greek electricity grid.
