EC monitoring on justice in Bulgaria, Romania continues 8 years

The former spokesman for the European Commission, Mark Gray, told the Bulgarian National Radio that the monitoring of justice and home affairs in Bulgaria and Romania was not meant to last eight years. The Commission's expectations were that the procedure would yield results in a much shorter period. Mark Gray did not deny that Bulgaria was permanently lagging behind Romania in the implementation of the monitoring goals. In recent reports on Romania, unlike Bulgaria, a steady progress was reported in many areas.
