2015 first born baby in Cyprus of Bulgarian nationality

Five minutes after the New Year arrived to Cyprus, the first baby for the year was born in that country and she has Bulgarian nationality. Her parents who have been living in Cyprus for the last seven years have named the girl Martina. Bulgarians still represent one of the largest foreign communities in Cyprus even though over the recent years many have left the island stricken by an economic crisis and high unemployment. Most Bulgarians work in the local tourist and hospitality industry.
