President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva and Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov have met with the directors of the Bulgarian National Radio and the Bulgarian National Television - Radoslav Yankulov and Vyara Ankova, as well as with Director General of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Ingrid Deltenre. "I was impressed during the meetings by the fact that the Prime Minister, the President of the National Assembly and the Director General of the EBU showed detailed knowledge of issues related to the state and the future of public media in Bulgaria and their place in the EU. Everyone expressed their willingness for cooperation and assistance where changes were needed. The new law on radio and television is one of the most important steps. It must be in tune with the 21st century and should meet all the requirements of our time. Ms. Tsacheva and Mr. Borissov expressed understanding and willingness for supporting the development of the media, but pointed out that there would be no interference in our work and professional and ethical standards that BNR and BNT guard will not be harmed,“ Radoslav Yankulov said. The Bulgarian National Television and the Bulgarian National Radio are independent media that provide quality programs and enjoy the trust of the audience, EBU head Ingrid Deltenre commented.
