Topalov strikes second victory in Stavanger

Bulgarian grand master Vesselin Topalov won against Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, France in the third round of the chess super tournament in Stavanger, Norway. Topalov, who played with the black figures, pressed his opponent to give up in the 28th step. The Bulgarian now has an asset of 2.5 points and takes the second place in the ranking after the third round. The competition includes ten leading masters, who will issue the new world champion after playing nine rounds in the round robin system.
