Bulgarian tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova has qualified for the second round of the tennis tournament in Istanbul. The Bulgarian won 2:1 against qualifier Margarita Gasparyan from Russia. The match, which lasted 2 hours and 43 minutes, was the first between the two at the level of professional tennis. In order to secure a place in the quarterfinals Pironkova will have to play against Japan's Kurumi Nara.
